was serving aboard Lancaster Mk. III ND-421 coded OF-S during an
operation to Braunschweig on January 14/15, 1944.
The aircraft took off from Bourne at 1646hrs and was shot down
near the island of Texel, five of the seven crew were killed
including Sgt Leslie Laver. The

Sergeant Leslie
Norman John Laver was the son of William Henry and Jenny
Laver from Sydenham. His father was a wine and spirit salesman
prior to running a draper's shop in Brentford. Leslie was aged 20
when he was killed with four of his crew. |
