WP-P for an operation to Amiens on March 15/16
1944. The aircraft departed from
Tuddenham at 1850hrs but
on
the homeward journey, as it prepared to land, it collided with
Wellington X LN-660
piloted by F/O James Lyon DFC,
RAAF from 11 OTU.
The Stirling crashed at Astwell Park, Northamptonshire with
the Wellington crashing to the East of Quainton in
Buckinghamshire,
killing everyone aboard both aircraft.

he is
buried in Norwich Cemetery in Norfolk.
