Sergeant George Dillnutt was serving as Wireless Operator/Air Gunner on board Lancaster MK.III EE114 coded PG-B for an operation to Leipzig on October 20/21, 1943. The aircraft departed from Woodhall Spa at 1718hrs but failed to return, it crashed Langwedel killing all seven crew members.

Sergeant George Walter Dillnutt RAFVR was the son of William & Emma Dillnutt and husband of Elsie of East Moss Side, Manchester. He is burried in Hanover War Cemetery with his crew.
