Flying Officer Derek
Patfield RAFVR enlisted when he was aged 19. After completing
his training in Canada, he joined 61 squadron as Bomb Aimer on
Lancaster’s, flying 3 ops from Coningsbury and a further 30
ops from Skellingthorpe, Lincolnshire with the Freeman and
Auckland crews.
Sadly Derek passed away
in 2007 and leaves a wife, Jesse and daughter Linda. Further
