Flight Sergeant Ernest
Morris was serving as Wireless Operator on board Lancaster Mk.I
NG179 on November 22/23, 1944,when it left Skellingthorpe at
1555hrs for an
op to bomb the U Boat pens at Trondheim. The Lancaster failed
to return and the crew was lost without a trace.

Flight Sergeant Ernest Morris RAFVR
was the only son of Ernest & Agnes Morris and husband of
Kathleen of Hednesford, Staffordshire. His son ,Clive was born
six months after Ernest failed to return from his last
mission.
The crew are remembered on the Runnymede memorial.
