Sgt Richard Dowding Perkins - RAFVR


Sgt Richard Dowding  was serving on board Lancaster MK.I  ED-318 coded KM-X for an operation to Berlin on January 17/18 1943. The aircraft departed from Waddington at 1709hrs and was lost without a trace. The crew are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.

Richard Dowding Perkins RAFVR Son of Thomas & Alice Perkins of Shrewsbury, Shropshire and fiancÚ of Hilda. He  was known as "Billy by his family and was aged 28 when he was killed on January 18th 1943 with the rest of his crew.
