Joseph Savard was promoted to Wing Commander and transferred to 429 Squadron with his crew.  They went missing on June 22/23, 1943, while on operations to Mulheim. F/O Belanger was replaced by Sgt J. Allan.

The crew is buried in Reichswald Forest War Cemetery.
