| Flight Sergeant
William Percival was serving as Flight Engineer on board Halifax
Mk. III HX-324 coded TL-B during an operation to Magdeberg on
January 21, 1944. They were intercepted by a night-fighter and
shot down near Hannover, killing four of the crew including S/L
Jagger, they are buried in the Berlin 1939-45 War
Cemetery.

Flight
Sergeant William "Bill" Percival RAFVR, born on the
nineteenth of April 1921 was the son of Harry and Alice Percival
of Openshaw, Manchester. He married Catherine Perry and worked as
an apprentice riveter with the London & North Eastern Railway
Company (LNER) before joining the RAF on the thirtieth of
September 1938. On joining up, he served as an aircraft fitter
before re mustering as air crew on the twentieth of November 1942
