Ray Miller Brown known as
"Bill" was born in 1914 in Brentford, Middlesex. He served
his Aeronautical Engineering apprenticeship with De Havilland and
was employed by the Air Registration Board in London as an
Aeronautical surveyor/engineer. He is believed to have set up the
ARB South Caribbean office in Port of Spain, Trinidad where he was
instrumental in forming the Trinidad and Tobago light aeroplane
club.
Between 1940 and 1945 he was a
Flying Instructor in the BCATP, first with #31 EFTS at De Winton, Alberta and then
transferred to #3 SFTS at Currie airbase in Calgary Alberta. Towards the end of 1945 he
returned to the UK with his family and continued his distinguished
career in aviation until his death in 1973.
