for an operation to Berlin on January 2/3, 1944. The aircraft
departed from Warboys at 0033hrs but was lost to enemy action,
one of ten
pathfinder aircraft to be lost that night. Frederick
Thorington and his crew are buried at the 1939-45 Berlin War
Cemetary.
